Tampa Bay Lightning Fan Newsletter || Week Twenty-Nine || 2025-26 NHL Season
Bullet Point Breakdown:
The Lightning played three games this week in the 2026 NHL Playoffs. Their seven-game series with the Montreal Canadiens is currently tied 2-2. The Lightning won games two & four this week, and they lost game three. The next game will be in Tampa Bay on Wednesday night (April 29th).
Brandon Hagel has been the Lightning’s best player so far. He has scored a goal in each of the first four games of the playoffs (6 goals total), which is something only two players have accomplished in team history. Andrei Vasilevskiy has been magnificent as well.
Charle-Edouard D’Astous was injured in game one of this playoff series; he has missed each game since then. Jon Cooper has confirmed he is close to a return, though, calling him day-to-day. Pontus Holmberg is continuing to rehab from his injury on April 6th; Jon Cooper has confirmed he will miss the entire first round of the playoffs. Victor Hedman is back with the team & practicing on the ice; the last update we received from Jon Cooper was that Hedman is probably not available right now.
The Lightning are 5-2 (.714) all-time in playoff series that begin at home & are tied 2-2 after game four.
